The Role

The Marketing Department is seeking a dynamic and creative Graduate Assistant to join our Media Production and Communications team. This role is ideal for a graduate student with a passion for media production, content creation, strategic communications, and digital media management. The successful candidate will gain practical experience while contributing to various media and communication projects within the School.

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Marketing Manager but will also work closely with the Admissions & Marketing Director and the Admissions team of the school.

The key responsibilities for the position includes:-

Media Production:

  • Assist in the creation and editing of video content, including filming, post-production, and motion
  • Design and produce visual content such as graphics, animations, and multimedia
  • Help manage media production schedules and ensure timely delivery of content

Communications:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies and
  • Draft and edit written content for various platforms, including press releases, newsletters, social media posts, and website updates.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support communication initiatives.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile reports on communication efforts.

Website and Social Media Management:

  • Manage and update website content to ensure it is current, accurate, and engaging
  • Develop and schedule social media content across various platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Monitor social media channels and respond to inquiries and comments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Analyse website and social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of content and campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure all digital content aligns with brand guidelines and enhances the organization’s online presence.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with the team to brainstorm and develop creative concepts.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure cohesive messaging and branding.
  • Support live event production, including setup, operation, and breakdown of audio-visual equipment
  • Maintain and organize digital assets, ensuring easy accessibility and proper archiving.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program, preferably in Communications, Media Production, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create compelling and clear content.
  • Understanding of media production processes, communications strategies, and digital media management
  • Experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and social media platforms.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in social media management and digital marketing.
  • Familiarity with web design and content management systems.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools and the ability to interpret data to improve communication strategies.

Terms and Conditions

Salary: The successful applicant will be placed on a reasonable wage salary.

Accommodation: suitable rent free accommodation within the school will be provided as a taxable benefit.

Medical care: a reasonable medical insurance scheme will be provided for the successful candidate.

Meals: these are provided during term time as a taxable benefit.

Facilities: extensive sports and recreation facilities are open to use by staff and their families

Hours of work and holiday entitlement

The role is full-time and includes working in the evening and at weekends as required. The successful applicant will be expected to take a full and active part in the boarding life of the school. S/He will also be expected to work during some of the holidays.
