Its duties span the protection of national parks and sanctuaries, conservation of wildlife, enforcement of related laws, management of vital water catchment areas, and participation in national security and counter-terrorism efforts.

Open Positions and Invitation to Apply

KWS is seeking to fill an impressive total of 1,500 positions, opening up opportunities for dedicated individuals passionate about wildlife conservation and management.

Positions Available:

1. Rangers

We are looking for committed individuals to join our team as Rangers, playing a crucial role in the on-ground conservation efforts and law enforcement within our national parks and wildlife reserves.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid Kenyan National Identity Card or Passport.
  • Should be a resident of the county from which you are applying.
  • Minimum of KCSE mean grade D (Plain).
  • Age between 18 and 26 years.
  • Physically and medically fit to undertake rigorous duties in various terrains.

2. Cadets (Assistant Wardens)

In the role of Cadets or Assistant Wardens, successful candidates will assume responsibilities that include management and administrative tasks essential to our operations and strategic goals.

Requirements:

  • Holder of a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2nd class honors, lower division) in relevant fields such as Wildlife Management, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science, Range Management, Veterinary Medicine, Criminology & Security Management, Tourism Management, Education, Sociology, or Community Development from a recognized institution.
  • Must be 28 years old or younger.
  • Demonstrates good health and physical condition to perform diverse tasks.
