About the Role
The intern will work closely with the Senior Officer, Youth Leadership, to support the development of a digital course under the AWF-Wall Youth Leadership Program. Research will form the bulk of this role, with additional responsibilities in content development, administration, and program logistics.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Research & Content Development
- Analyse current hybrid training materials to inform adaptation into a digital format
- Research existing digital courses to identify effective learning methodologies, interactivity mechanisms, and engagement strategies
- Research e-learning platforms to identify suitable hosting options
- Map out stakeholders who would support delivery of the digital version
- Support content development tasks including analysis of research outputs, brainstorming sessions, and e-learning platform content setup
- Participate in content development and design sessions
Administrative & Logistical Support
- Provide high-quality administrative support including scheduling and recording of meetings, monitoring documents for signature or approval, and handling correspondence
- Lead the preparation, compilation, and systematic filing of research outcome documents including needs analysis reports, market research reports, and other analytical outputs
- Provide logistical support for hybrid program delivery including virtual session scheduling, Learning Management System management, participant communications, in-person workshop support, and reporting
Rights-Based Conservation
- Demonstrate commitment to and a sound understanding of AWF’s Rights-Based Conservation approaches, values, and principles across all stakeholder interactions
Requirements & Skills
- At least 1 year of working experience or exposure in environmental sciences, conservation, business, social innovation, community development, social sciences, or a related field
- A degree in environmental, development, political, or social studies or a related field
- Passionate about conservation, sustainable development, and youth-oriented projects
- Strong administrative, organizational, and time management skills
- Good multicultural and interpersonal skills
- Proven written, analytical, presentation, and computing skills
- Exposure to research activities such as needs assessments, market analysis, baseline studies, or stakeholder analysis
- Fluency in spoken and written English — fluency in French is an added advantage
- Creative, open to learning, and adaptable
