MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Movement Growth Officer will:
- Membership and Supporter Engagement Strategies:
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to increase membership and supporter engagement.
- Work with campaign leads in designing and executing campaigns and initiatives to attract new members and supporters.
- Create and manage online and offline platforms for member and supporter participation and interaction.
- Collaborate with other teams to enhance communication and coordination between members and supporters.
- Membership Renewals and Engagements:
- Monitor and track membership renewals and send reminders to members whose memberships are due for renewal.
- Respond promptly to membership inquiries and requests for information.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure high membership retention rates.
- Plan and coordinate member and supporter events, meetings, and activities.
- Movement Building:
- Support the development and implementation of Amnesty Kenya’s movement-building strategy.
- Collaborate with the Communications Officer to enhance the visibility and impact of Amnesty Kenya’s work.
- Identify and establish partnerships with like-minded organisations to broaden the movement’s reach and influence.
- Membership, Supporter Register Management, Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date membership and supporter register.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of membership data.
- Regularly update membership records, including contact details, payment information, and membership status.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports on membership and supporter statistics.
- Provide regular updates to the Communications and Membership Manager on membership trends, challenges, and successes.
- Document best practices and lessons learned in membership and supporter engagement.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
ESSENTIAL:
- Commitment to Amnesty values and objectives.
- At least a first degree in human rights, social sciences, participatory community development, civic education, human resources, communications, or another appropriate discipline.
- At least 4 years of community engagement, advocacy or campaigning experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to develop and implement successful engagement strategies.
- Proficiency in using relevant software applications and databases for managing membership and supporter data.
- Sensitivity and ability to work with people from various cultural and social backgrounds.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational, planning, and administrative skills.
