• Job Description 

    As a Program Associate for Wezesha, you will be responsible for the delivery and execution of Ongoza’s training program in various counties. This entails the mobilization of program participants and ensuring that they meet the set criteria for the training programs. You will ensure the smooth running of program activities, delivery of high-quality training, and follow-up on program participants. 

    We are looking for a candidate with an entrepreneurial personality and a proven capacity to achieve effective results. 

  • Roles and Responsibilities
    Mobilization and Coordination
    • Establish community partner relationships relevant to Ongoza’s mission and vision for effective program deliveryLead in mobilization and recruitment of program participants in various countiesShortlisting and screening of  program participants into the trainingManage program registration and participant communication, ensuring timely and accurate communication with participants and stakeholders

    Program delivery and coordination
    • Coordinate logistical arrangements for training sessions including scheduling, room reservations, catering and training equipmentPrepare training materials, including handouts, presentations and evaluations  and assist with maintenance of program databases and recordsCollaborate with the Lead – Wezesha to ensure that the training or workshops are thoughtfully planned and executed.Establish an ideal virtual learning environment that energizes learning.Collaborate with trainers to prepare the necessary learning materials to make the learning exciting.Ensure a wide range of delivery methods have been considered and used as appropriate within a virtual setting.Conduct and gather information on best practices and emerging trends in training program design and delivery.
    Administrative roles
    • Assist in monitoring  and evaluation of program outcomes, including gathering and analyzing data, preparing reports and providing recommendations for program improvements.Ensure learning management system is up to date and assist program participants  in navigating the platformCollaborate with Finance on program budgets, procurement and requisition including tracking of program expenses and reportingEnsure that feedback surveys are administered in a timely and customer friendly mannerSupport ad-hoc queries from program participants during training sessionsMaintain effective communication and relationship with program participants, stakeholders, trainers and partnersCollaborate with Growth Partners to ensure grantees sign and adhere to their grant agreementCollaborate with Growth Partners in disbursement  and tracking of investment grants
     

    Required Skills/Experience/Education
    • At least 3 years of  experience managing programs within incubator and accelerator programs or organizations 
    • Experience in coordinating training programs in different counties in Kenya.
    • Ability to build and foster community partnerships in various counties in Kenya such as CBOs and Youth Groups.
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in English and Swahili are mandatory.
    • Well-developed presentation skills.
    • Ability to train using virtual platforms e.g., learning management systems, zoom training.
    • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and encourage learning to diverse groups using diverse methods.
    • Experience in starting or growing a business is an added advantage
