Purpose of the Role
The ideal candidate is responsible for developing in-house software, managing systems performance, and providing technical support.
Role Accountabilities
- Provide technical operations and development of new and existing software and web application projects.
- Provide technical direction for development, design and system integration.
- Ensure that all IT systems are robust, available, effective and secure.
- Execute development plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Communicate complex technical information to non- technical people in a comprehensible form.
- Identify improvements to the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the mission.
- Identifying and fixing defects.
- Assist with the planning of budgets related to technical operations and delivery of hardware, software and web application projects.
- Design and update software database and provide system reports.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in Computer science/ IT or a related field.
- Working knowledge with Linux desktop technologies.
- Working knowledge in Server-side languages, such as PHP, Python, NodeJS or VueJS
- Proficient in MySQL
- Experience working on a large scale React (with TypeScript) project
- A history of open source contributions will be an added advantage
- 3 years Relevant work experience
- Demonstrable experience of work on modern web applications
- A strong understanding of HTML, CSS with SCSS and JavaScript
- Experience with Javascript components libraries
- Experience with TypeScript
- Experience with responsive user interfaces for a wide range of devices and browsers
- Experience with Git or other version control systems
- Awareness of SEO best practice
- Consideration of accessibility in all aspects of your work
- A strong understanding of web performance in complex user interfaces
- Ability to interact with UX, designers and server-side developers
- Curiosity about technology and a thirst to learn
