About Impact 4 Youth Organization

Impact 4 Youth (I4Y) is a community-based organization that was established in 2023 with the aim of providing adolescents and young people with access to improved health and opportunities for self-sustainability. Through the power and spirit of volunteerism, I4Y delivers its activities to build sustainable communities. The organization was founded to address the challenges faced by young people in the country, including issues related to health, unemployment, and lack of information. I4Y’s primary objective is to enhance the health and well-being of young people, including their sexual and reproductive health, mental health, and access to health information and services. Additionally, the organization seeks to equip young people with digital and leadership skills and to promote a violence-free community.

It has identified four thematic areas on which it focuses, including health (with a specific emphasis on sexual and reproductive health and rights, HIV and AIDS management and awareness, and mental health), digital literacy, youth leadership, and peacebuilding. Like other community-based organizations and humanitarian groups, I4Y strives to achieve sustainable results from its developmental projects and activities in communities, particularly among adolescents and young people from all backgrounds.

We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated volunteers to fill key positions in our organization. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work with an amazing team to support our mission of providing health information and services as well as linkages to opportunities to all young people

We are specifically looking for volunteers to fill the following roles:

·       Program Officer

  • Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

·       Media and Communications Officer

  • Finance Officer

Roles and responsibilities

  1. Programs Officer:
    1. Collaborate with the team to design and implement programs that align with the organization’s mission and goals.
    1. Develop program budgets, timelines, and work plans.
    1. Monitor program progress and make adjustments as needed.
    1. Collect and analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness.
    1. Develop program reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, stakeholders, and program participants.
    • Ensure compliance with program guidelines and regulations.

2.     Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

  • Develop monitoring and evaluation plans for the organization’s programs and initiatives.
    • Develop data collection tools and protocols.
    • Collect and analyze data to assess program outcomes and impact.
    • Develop reports and presentations on program performance.
    • Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to the team.
    • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to support data collection and analysis.
    • Ensure compliance with monitoring and evaluation guidelines and standards.

3.     Finance Officer

  • Develop and maintain budgets for the organization’s programs and initiatives.
    • Manage financial records and transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.Monitor expenses and revenue and make adjustments as needed.Prepare financial reports and statements for stakeholders.Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.Develop and maintain relationships with financial partners and stakeholders.
    • Support fundraising and grant writing efforts.

4.     Media and Communications Officer

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive media and communications strategy for the organization.
    • Create content for the organization’s website, social media, and other communication channels.
    • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists.
    • Monitor media coverage and develop responses as needed.
    • Develop and distribute press releases, media kits, and other materials.
    • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners.
    • Ensure consistency of messaging and branding across all communication channels.

Requirements for these positions

The following qualifications are necessary for this position:

  • A young person aged 18-24 years.
  • A Diploma or Degree in any relevant field of study;
  • Residing in Mombasa County
  • Passion for learning about health, specifically sexual and reproductive health and rights, mental health, leadership, digital literacy, and peacebuilding; the ability to conduct community sessions.
  • Ability to speak and write fluent English and Swahili
  • Willingness to learn.
