Project Planning and Implementation

  • Ensure effective mobilization for all ELEVATE project interventions.
  • Establish connections with community members, local institutions, and partners for the project implementation.
  • Utilize participatory approaches to foster community ownership of development initiatives.
  • Engage the community and stakeholders in key national events, including World
  • Environment Day and project handover celebrations.
  • Mobilize and coordinate capacity-building initiatives for communities and local partners.
  • Engagement, Networking and Representation
  • Represent OSDA in all key community level stakeholder forums.
  • Identify community needs and communicate to the office for resource mobilization.
  • Educate the community on the project’s goals, benefits, and participation requirements.
  • Build trust and establish relationships with local leaders, stakeholders and community members.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain records of community activities, attendance, and feedback.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on community mobilization efforts and outcomes.
  • Facilitate participatory monitoring that involves Local level partners and communities.
  • Participate in the evaluation and baseline planning.
  • Engage community leaders and partners in the planning of the monitoring activities.
  • Participate in regular reflections on monitoring practice to make improvements as needed.

  • Any other duties as assigned by the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Community Development, Business Management /Development studies/social work or any other related courses in a relevant field. Degree is an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years field experience working with Communities in IDPs/refugee/host community programming with program design and management in an NGO context.
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work with different partners, local authorities, local organizations and NGOs, to develop and maintain positive relationships.
  • Proven ability to engage with communities and deliver participatory approaches.
  • Proven ability to work in multicultural environments and with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel to the field as and when needed.
  • Experience in working in insecure environment and ability to strictly adhere to OSDA’s security operating procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of MS Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
  • Applicants MUST be local residents from Lafey subcounty, Mandera County.
