The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a premier research-to-policy institution, generating evidence, strengthening research and related capacity in the African research and development ecosystem, and engaging policy to inform action on health and development. The Center is Africa-based and African-led, with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, and a West Africa Regional Office (WARO), in Dakar, Senegal. APHRC seeks to drive change by developing strong African research leadership and promoting evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) across sub-Saharan Africa.
APHRC seeks to engage a Protocol Intern in its Administration Unit to learn while assisting with a variety of administrative and protocol tasks for an initial period of three months.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting and preparing documents and information materials to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs i.e. completing dependent passes, exemption permit forms, departure notifications and VAT forms.
- Provide logistical support for protocol activities and services.
- Assist with physical follow up on pending cases as guided by the Protocol Officer.
- Assist in drafting correspondence, note verbale and cover letters.
- Perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations and Diplomacy or any other related field; should have graduated in the last six (6) months.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in English, with excellent writing skills.
- Must have a clean driving licence for classes B, C1, C, (D2 & D3 will be added advantage).
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pay attention to details.
