As part of its continued mission to empower families and strengthen communities, Habitat for Humanity Kenya is seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee the successful implementation of a donor-funded project in Masinga, Machakos County.
Position: Project Coordinator
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring all project activities in alignment with donor requirements and organizational goals. The role requires exceptional leadership, technical oversight, and stakeholder management skills to ensure the effective and timely delivery of results.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day execution of project activities according to the approved workplan and budget.

Ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of project outputs and outcomes.

Serve as the main liaison between Habitat for Humanity and implementing partners, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines.

Facilitate joint planning, regular coordination meetings, and performance reviews.

Build the capacity of partners in compliance, reporting, and technical delivery.

Work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) team to ensure accurate data tracking and reporting.

Prepare and submit comprehensive project reports in line with donor templates and timelines.

Develop and implement a project risk mitigation plan.

Maintain complete and auditable project documentation.

Foster strong relationships with county government agencies, community stakeholders, and development partners.

Represent the project in coordination meetings, stakeholder forums, and donor engagements.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing donor-funded projects.

Demonstrated expertise in partner coordination, compliance, and results-based project management.

Strong understanding of development cooperation frameworks and the Kenyan socio-economic context.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail under tight deadlines.
