We are currently seeking a motivated and technically-inclined individual to join our team in Nairobi as a Trainee Technical Operator. This is a contract position designed to provide comprehensive, hands-on training in state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, offering a fantastic entry point for graduates into the world of FMCG engineering.

About the Role: Trainee Technical Operator
Job Purpose:
The Trainee Technical Operator will undergo structured training to learn how to operate advanced manufacturing technology within the Make & Pack department. You will be trained to specialize in one of the following areas: Cigarette Making, Cigarette Packing, or Filter Making. The role focuses on acquiring the skills to perform basic machine settings and maintenance to consistently achieve top-tier quality standards and targeted production output.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor product quality against specification sheets, record data on quality checklists, and implement timely corrective actions.

Learn and perform basic machine settings and maintenance tasks, such as changing garniture tapes and knives, and managing circumference controls, documenting all activities on Daily Management System (DMS) checklists.

Report machine faults and corrective measures using outlined digital and physical forms, and actively participate in maintenance activities as part of your technical development.

Align with production schedules to ensure products are manufactured according to plan while maintaining machine safety.

Coordinate effectively with team members to ensure smooth machine start-ups, restarts after interruptions, and a clear, concise handover between shifts.
Qualifications and Experience:

Education: An Ordinary National Diploma in Engineering is required.

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.

A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.

Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn complex machinery.
