Airfreight Executive-Booking and Planning, and OKAM

 

OKAM

  • Verifying the forecast of volumes and routings from the shipper.
  • Ensuring communication between the OKAM team and the team responsible for flight capacity and advocating the best possible for the preferred customer routings.
  • Receiving bookings electronically or by phone, registering these bookings accurately into the computer system, and providing feedback for each booking.
  • Providing feedback for each booking with the booking reference number and planned flight details.
  • Preparing a shipment record in the computer system when shipment is delivered without a booking.
  • Ensuring all shipment details are communicated to CNR and FWD entities.
  • Receiving the status of flights/shipments from operations and documentation departments and communicating any irregularity right away to the shipper and consignee.
  • Checking flights’ status and ensuring all changes and deviations are communicated in a timely manner to shippers, consignees, and clearing agents.
  • Ensuring discussions are held with customers regarding charging the correct actual and chargeable weight, including the box size verifications.
  • Responsible for the communication of discrepancies at the time of receipt.
  • Visiting customers to discuss their business, specific issues, service, and/or new developments.

Booking & Planning

  • Receiving bookings electronically or by phone and registering these bookings accurately into the computer system.
  • Communicating with the airline on required allocation and shipment changes.
  • Communicating any flight changes to OKAM/Operations/Airflo BV.
  • Preparing a shipment record in the computer system when shipment is delivered without a booking.
  • Ensuring all shipment details are communicated to FWD entities.
  • Daily check to ensure shipment and flight details are up-to-date in the C1 and reporting daily KPIs.
  • Checking flights’ status and ensuring all changes and deviations are communicated in a timely manner to OKAM, Operations, Airflo BV, and other clearing agents.

Requirements

  • “O” Level (KCSE C+).
  • Diploma in any relevant commercial course/aviation course (preferably IATA Forwarding).
  • Hands-on experience of at least 2 (two) years and above.

 

Airfreight Executive-Line Flights (Nairobi)

 

Description

  • Contacting line flight carriers for rates, schedules, capacity, and equipment.
  • Communicating with shippers and consignees about the airline rates, capacity, equipment, and handling charges.
  • Checking with operations the shipment delivery status, plant health inspection, and QC status.
  • Ensuring all shipments fly as initially booked by the customer. I.e., ULD utilization, etc.
  • Taking all necessary steps to ensure a smooth cargo operation and keeping up-to-date with new developments.
  • Updates the ETA/ETD in the systems and communicates this to the customer.

Requirements

  • “O” Level (KCSE C+).
  • Diploma in any relevant commercial course/aviation course (preferably IATA Forwarding).
  • Hands-on experience of at least 2 (two) years and above.

 

Airfreight Intern (Nairobi)

 

Description

  • Spot Booking.
  • Generating and managing S-Numbers.
  • Attach and detach S-Numbers.
  • Customer portfolio, consignee, and specific requirements.
  • Planning (split direct and indirect).
  • Registering new customers.
  • Shipping documentation with shipment destinations and requirements.
  • Airline knowledge (destinations, schedule, pivot weights, ULD types) Interpreting the booking plan and forecasting.
  • Communication to client on delays, cancellations, etc.
  • Using booking and forecast tools.
  • Learn industry abbreviations (booking & airline lingual).
  • How to read and understand/interpret the booking sheet.

Documentation Intern

 

Description

  • Assist in the management of flight documentation.
  • Assist in sending shipment documents to the clients and market.
  • Generation of MAWB.
  • Learn and assist in ECS production.
  • Assist in verifying shipment numbers.
  • Understand HCDA and HAWB production.
  • Communication on documentation confirmation to clients.
  • Understand the process of C17 production.
  • Assist in prior release and shipment verification

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant business field.
  • Diploma in any relevant Customs Administration Course.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft® Office Software (Excel®, Word®, PowerPoint®, and others).

 

Operations Intern

 

Description

  • Export shipment acceptance box counts, weight measures, and arrival temperature recording.
  • Intake reports generation and communication to clients.
  • Reports any irregularity with shipments on arrival to the supervisor.
  • Check on airline equipment’s inventory and report on the non-supplies and irregularities.
  • Follows instructions on pelletizing shipments per booked flights.
  • Labeling of boxes before palletization as per instructions given.
  • Accurate pallet-card reports generation as per shipment build-ups.
  • Generate correct daily warehouse inventory reports.
  • Pallets label application.
  • Attending to any other task in the operations department as allocated.

Requirements

  • Degree or higher diploma in operations management/commercial courses and aviation courses.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft® Office Software (Excel®, Word®, PowerPoint®, and others).
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems.

Description

  • Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
  • Assist in performing hardware and software installation procedures.
  • Analyzing the business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Production of standard regular reports as required by the customers.
  • Maintenance of data quality standards.
  • Assist in hardware inventory management.
  • Handle periodic preventive maintenance for IT hardware.

Requirements
