Job Description
- Preparation and verification of vouchers in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations involving primary data entry and routine accounting work such as balancing of cashbooks, imprest and advances ledgers etc.
- The Accounts Assistant will be responsible to the accountant for performing a variety of accounting work of limited scope. Specifically, the duties and responsibilities will involve: –
- She/he will be responsible for safe custody of records and assets under him/her.
- Assisting in Handling of members accounts
- Any other duties that maybe assigned by responsible officer from time to time
Job Specifications
For appointment to the grade of Account Assistant, a candidate must have the following qualifications: –
- Higher Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Commerce
- A pass in Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or it’s recognized equivalent qualifications.
- Certificate in Computer application skills qualification
Work Experience
- 3 years of experience in accounting, finance or book-keeping preferably in the hospitality industry.
Key Skills required:
- Knowledge of hotel financial procedures (Billing, Invoicing, Accounts Payable/Receivables)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Accounting Software (QuickBooks), SBA an added advantage
- Understanding of Tax regulations and compliance
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to work under pressure and meet datelines
- Good communication and team work skills
- Familiarity with hotel revenue management and cost control techniques.
