Job Description
The account Assistant will be responsible to the accountant for performing a variety of accounting work of limited scope, specifically the duties and responsibilities will include:
- preparation and verification of vouchers in accordance with the laid down rules and regulation involving primary data entries and routine accounting role such as balancing of cash books and ledgers, etc.
- She/ he will be responsible for safe custody of records and assets under him/her
- Assist in handling members accounts
- Any other duties that may be assigned to you by the Management from time to time
Job specification
For appointment to this position, a candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Higher diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Commerce A pass in part II of the Certified Public Accounts (CPA) Examination or its recognized equivalent qualification
Work Experience
- 3 years’ experience in accounting, finance or book keeping preferably in the hospitality industry in equivalent positions.
Key Skills required
- Knowledge of hotel financial procedures (Billing, Invoicing, Account Payables/ Receivables)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting Software (Quick books), SBA-Simple Business Accounting an added advantage.
- Understanding of tax regulation and compliance
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadline
- Good communication and team work skills
- Familiarity with hotel management and cost control techniques
