Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing and painting various surfaces, maintaining the aesthetic appeal and overall luxury experience for guests. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as needed
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and sprayers with precision and efficiency
- Perform touch-ups and repairs on existing painted surfaces
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper care of tools and equipment
- Collaborate with team members and other trades to coordinate work schedules and project timelines
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on job sites
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing their concerns
- Estimate paint quantities and materials needed for each project
- Stay updated on new painting techniques and products to improve efficiency and quality
- Complete projects within specified timeframes and budget constraints
- Assist in training and mentoring junior painters as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a professional painter, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- In-depth knowledge of various painting techniques, paint types, and application methods
- Excellent color matching skills and understanding of color theory
- Proficiency in using painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Physical stamina and ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and lift heavy equipment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and client interactions
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and work schedules
- Basic math skills for calculating paint quantities and measuring surfaces
- Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to comply with all safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues that may arise during projects
