We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting:
Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial statements.
Prepare journal entries for various transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, and payroll.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records.
Taxation:
Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE).
Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
Internal Controls:
Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Other Duties:
Assist with audits and other financial reviews.
Provide support to other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Must have: CPA Level 4 or higher.
Preferred: ACCA midway or completed.
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions like pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero).
