Duties
The incumbent provides U.S citizens for Kenya and Somalia in accordance with U.S Department of State and Post policies and procedures. The incumbent is responsible for the full range of emergency and non-emergency services, including welfare and whereabouts services, repatriations, citizenship renunciations, births, deaths, arrests, processing passports and citizenship services, federal benefit payments and translation. The incumbent regularly develops contacts and communicates with both Somali host government officials, immigration officials, police prison and mortuary associates, as needed, to be able to extend aid and support to U.S. citizens in crisis or times of emergency. The incumbent is rated by the ACS LE Supervisor and reviewed by the ACS Chief.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:Â Minimum of four years of progressively responsible work involving public contact, customer service and application of regulatory is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:Â Â The employee should have an understanding of local (Kenyan and /or Somalia ) laws and resources concerning immigration, crime, marriage/divorce, etc. The employee must possess knowledge of budget and fiscal matters and understand the procedure for execution of an OCS trust or repatriation loan in order to assist a U.S citizen in need. Must know how to process all special citizen services cases to completion per regulations in ACS+ software.
Education Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary School is required.
- Two years of College/ University studies is required.
