Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Research Officer to join our team. In this role, you will conduct in-depth research, analyse data, and produce comprehensive reports and publications that guide our initiatives. Your work will be crucial in advancing our mission to strengthen emergency healthcare systems in Kenya to save lives.
Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on emergency healthcare issues relevant to Kenya.
- Gather, analyse, and interpret data from primary and secondary sources.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Stay updated on current trends, policies, and best practices in emergency healthcare.
- Synthesise complex information into clear, concise, and accessible formats.
Report Writing:
- Prepare comprehensive reports, policy briefs, and position papers.
- Ensure all written materials are well-structured, evidence-based, and aligned with the Foundation’s objectives.
- Collaborate with program teams to incorporate field insights and case studies into reports.
- Edit and proofread reports to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Present research findings to internal teams, partners, stakeholders, and the public.
- Contribute to the development of communication materials, such as newsletters, blogs, and social media posts.
- Support grant writing and fundraising efforts by providing research-based content.
Project Management:
- Plan and manage research projects from inception to completion.
- Develop research proposals, methodologies, and timelines.
- Coordinate with external consultants, researchers, and partners as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of research outputs.
Capacity Building:
- Provide training and support to staff and volunteers on research methods and data analysis.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organisation.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Proven experience in conducting research and writing reports, preferably within the healthcare sector.
- Proven record of research published in peer-reviewed journals.
- Proficiency in research methodologies and tools.
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
