Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:-

  • Effecting changes, alterations in sports constitutions, rules and regulations, titles, name or addresses of any person or office of a sports organizations and sports persons;
  • Coordinating observation of sports organizations elections;
  • Drafting of affidavits, petitions and defenses for filing in Sports Dispute Tribunal and other relevant courts;
  • Arbitrating on disputes arising from registration and licensing;
  • Drafting instructions for issuance to the Attorney General’s Office;
  • Carrying out inspection of sports organizations to ensure compliance;
  • Identifying areas for review of the existing laws, rules and regulations;
  • Undertaking litigation on behalf of the office;
  • Coordinating the maintenance of records, continuous updating retrieval and dissemination of information;
  • Undertaking research in relation to the function of the office; and
  • Maintaining and updating a register of registered sports organizations and licensed professional sports bodies and persons

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

  • Served for a minimum period of three (3) years at the grade of Senior Assistant Sports Registrar, CSG 8 or in a comparable and relevant position in the wider public service;
  • A Bachelors Degree in Law (LLB) from a university recognized in Kenya;
  • A valid practicing Certificate from Law Society of Kenya;
  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
  • A Diploma in Law from the Council of Legal Education;
  • Certificate in Arbitration or Mediation from a recognized institution; and
  • Demonstrated professional and administrative ability as reflected in work performance and results
