B&M Consult is a leading regional consultancy firm offering Development, Measurement and Learning consultancy services to governments, private sector, faith-based organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, and donor agencies in Africa. Our portfolio of services also encompasses Design of Monitoring and Evaluation plans, frameworks, and systems, conducting high quality research, development of strategic/implementation plans, conducting baseline studies, mid-term, and end-term evaluations in an array of fields, conducting data quality audits and strengthening data use for decision making systems, and capacity development.
B&M Consult in partnership with Light for The World (LFTW) Kenya is conducting a baseline survey for the We Can Work (WCW) program. The WCW program is a regional signature disability program that uses a system and mindset change approach to impact the lives of at least 1,000,000 young women and men with disabilities and enables them to access dignified and fulfilling work.
The interested candidates should be willing to work in any of these districts: Nairobi Mombasa, Nakuru, Homa Bay, Nyamira, Embu and MUST speak the local dialects of the selected sites. Priority will be given to persons with disabilities.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: Quantitative Research Assistant (12)
A minimum of Diploma with at least three years’ experience in conducting field research & evaluations. Interested candidates should have experience in conducting assessments on Disability, Gender and/or Social Inclusion. Prior experience in conducting Disability assessments — specifically, using Washington Group Questions, Gender Rapid Assessment Guide, Harvard Analytical Framework, 24-hour Calendar tool and Activity Profiling Tool will be an added advantage. Other key considerations include ability to work independently, paying attention to data quality, and experience using mobile data collection applications e.g., ODK, Kobo, Survey CTO or CommCare.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: Qualitative Facilitators (12)
BA/BSc with at least three-year experience facilitating Key informant and in-depth interviews, moderating Focus Group Discussions; facilitating community entry initiatives; expert skills in generating high quality transcripts, effective team player with desirable listening and writing skills. Prior experience in conducting Disability, Gender, and Social Inclusion qualitative studies will be an added advantage. The applicant should have a laptop.
