Project Description
The Migration Youth & Children Platform (MYCP) is launching a new funded project to cover our Global Compact on Migration (GCM) and Alternatives to Detention (ATD) & capacity building programmes to amplify the voices of young migrants in decision-making and advocacy. With multiple different workstreams and various different activities, MYCP’s GCM Project promises to make its mark by impacting the lives of countless young leaders across the world.
We are looking for an Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist who will be a key part of our project team to support the team to ensure the accurate delivery of the project against our stated objectives.
The Role
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist is responsible for supporting implementing team members to craft M&E systems that align with the project; providing assistance in monitoring programme progress including the design of appropriate data collection tools that track progress; setting and reviewing progress against KPIs for each relevant workstream; capacity building for team members on M&E, and a written M&E report for the Project’s development and learning.
The role is part-time, with an expected weekly commitment of 4-6 hours. The appointment will last for the duration of the project (September 2024 – June 2025). All aspects of the project will be done remotely.
Compensation: 3500-3700 EUR maximum (dependent on location and experience)
Essential Criteria
- Aged between 18-30, with the ability to work part-time for the duration of the project
- Relevant training or education/experience in social science, data science, economics, business, or related field
- Experience in developing and implementing M&E plans, indicators, data analysis, mapping project processes and thorough knowledge of M&E principles, methods and approaches
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English (minimum C1 proficiency)
- Logical, driven, and task-oriented individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and able to handle pressure with excellent attention to detail
- Capable of applying skills and knowledge in a range of capacities, including direct implementation, remote management, training and the transfer of knowledge and skills to others
- Qualitative and quantitative data analysis and collection skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience of MEAL (monitoring, evaluation, adaptation & learning) activities in the development field
- Keen interest in improving efficiency and effectiveness of reporting and project management
- Leadership skills
- Speaking and writing French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian or other relevant language
