Estimated Duration: between 20-30 Days
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duty Station: Fully Remote
Application deadline: 15th July, 2024.
Background/Context
Mobile phones and internet access have revolutionized health information dissemination, enabling real-time communication and empowering individuals with knowledge and tools to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health (SRHR). Digital health solutions, including mobile health (mHealth) applications, telemedicine, and online platforms, have become essential in SRHR strategies, offering innovative approaches for advancing access to information, education, counseling, service delivery, SRHR product deliveries, and data collection. However, barriers such as limited digital literacy, infrastructure gaps, policy and regulatory environment, and socio-cultural factors persist and hinder innovations and creativity.
Nailab is conducting a research study to document and assess the current, and most effective SRHR innovations and technologies within selected African countries that can be advanced to solve the SRHR challenges in the African Region.
Project Scope
The assessment aims to:
- Conduct a comprehensive mapping exercise to identify innovative solutions that have leveraged technology and have a clear business model for sustainable outcomes in SRHR with the aim of scaling and linking them to funding opportunities.
- Develop an investor toolkit with data showcasing high-impact SRHR innovations with robust metrics on the business model, scalability, sustainability, alignment with relevant SDGs, and the potential to attract funding/investment.
- Facilitate connections and foster a collaborative ecosystem between impactful SRHR innovations and social impact investors and funders.
- Understand the current landscape, highlight successful innovative solutions, and provide strategic recommendations to enhance the adoption and scale-out of SRHR innovations.
Objectives
The initiative is firmly committed to improving Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) outcomes across Africa. This mapping exercise directly aligns with that commitment by identifying and supporting impactful and self-sustainable innovations that leverage technology to address critical SRHR challenges.
