We are recruiting on behalf of one of our affiliates, a Deposit Taking SACCO in Nairobi to fill the position of FINANCE MANAGER.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and accounting functions of the Sacco. The job holder will ensure the Sacco maintains accurate financial records, manage cash flow, prepare financial reports, and provide strategic financial guidance to leadership.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor and manage the Sacco’s cash flow, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and loan repayments.
- Oversee the Sacco’s budgeting and forecasting processes, working with department heads to develop the annual budget.
- Ensure proper internal controls and accounting procedures are in place and followed.
- Manage the Sacco’s investment portfolio and liquidity needs.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide all necessary information for the annual audit.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors to support strategic decision-making.
- Supervise and develop the finance team, including accountants and bookkeepers.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and changing financial regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA (K) or ACCA certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting role, preferably in the Sacco/SACCO sector
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial reporting
- Proficient in using financial software and spreadsheet applications
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
