The Commission for University Education (the Commission) is a State Corporation established by the Universities Act No. 42 of 2012 (the Act) to regulate university education in Kenya. The Commission promotes, advances, publicizes, and set standards relevant in the quality of university education, including, the promotion and support of internationally recognized standards; approve academic programmes and universities in Kenya and monitor and evaluate the state of university education systems in relation to the national development goals. SENIOR ICT OFFICER JOB GRADE CUE 5
Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –
- Coordinates the implementation of departmental strategies on ICT infrastructure to align with the corporate strategy.
- Manages implementation of corporate ICT disaster recovery and business continuity
- Directs development of ICT system controls and access management, including monitoring, control and evaluation of system use to promote system safety and security.
- Controls development and implementation of hardware and software standards for networks, servers, databases, and ICT
- Plans, coordinates, monitors and evaluates the development and implementation of systems and project activities;
- Manages effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and administration of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure;
- Undertakes periodic review of ICT systems projects and procedures and recommends improvements; and
- Ensuring Business continuity by performing regular data and application backups
b) Persons Specification
For appointment to this grade, an Officer must have:
- A minimum of four (4) years relevant work
- Bachelor’s Degree in: Computer Science/Information Communication Technology/Business Information Technology or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution.

Driver (GRADE CUE 9)
Job Specifications
This is the entry point into the Motor Vehicle Drivers cadre. A driver at this level will be responsible to the Deputy Director, Human Resource and Administration and will perform the following duties:
- Driving the vehicle as authorized;
- Checking and maintenance of the vehicle;
- Ensure the safety of the vehicle, passengers and goods therein;
- Maintain the work ticket for assigned vehicles;
- Carrying out first aid in case of accident;
- Detecting and reporting malfunctioning vehicles systems;
- Securing the vehicle while on and off the road;
