About the job

  • We are looking for an entertainment journalist intern who will be responsible for covering entertainment news and stories. We expect you to have top-notch digital writing skills and a strong nose for viral content.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitoring trending entertainment stories on social media.
  • Writing and publishing entertainment stories in line with our in-house style guide.
  • Conduct interviews and write special format articles, i.e., feature, analysis, fact-check, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Considerable experience in journalism and entertainment writing.
  • Perfect writing skills, narration, and good grammar.
  • Great editorial judgment and quality entertainment news monitoring skills.
  • Impeccable communication and interviewing skills: both written and verbal.
  • Must be a strategic and analytical thinker.
  • Must be a self-driven individual with a strong desire to learn, adapt and work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work remotely (good internet connection and a laptop, minimum Intel Core i3).
  • Must be able to use social media effectively.

Current Affairs Intern

 

  • We are looking for a current affairs intern who will be responsible for breaking news and political content. We shall expect you to have top-notch digital writing skills and a strong nose for extremely viral content.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitoring trending breaking news topics and political stories.
  • Writing and publishing news/political stories that resonate with our audience.
  • Sourcing ideas for exclusive stories.
  • Sourcing comments/interviews.
  • Good interviewing skills.
  • Ability to churn out articles in perfect English.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Considerable experience in journalism and current affairs writing.
  • Perfect writing skills; narration and good grammar.
  • Great editorial judgment and quality current affairs news monitoring skills.
  • Impeccable communication and interviewing skills: both written and verbal.
  • Must be a strategic and analytical thinker.

Human Interest Editor

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring timely processing and publishing of news material that meets our editorial standards, in-house style guide, and the rules (policies) of platforms (Facebook, Google, others).
  • Verifying facts and accuracy of all news reports before they are published.
  • Rewriting and editing copy to ensure it is readable and appeals to the target audience.
  • Producing authentic content free of plagiarism.
  • Ensuring articles have catchy headlines and appropriate visual elements, photos, or illustrations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in journalism/media studies or related field.
  • 1-2 years experience in human interest reporting online or working in a similar capacity.
  • Perfect command of the English language (you will have to take several tests to prove it).
  • Expertise in local & global politics and current affairs.
  • Experience in the digital/social media field.
  • A good laptop/PC (at least Intel Core i3).
  • Good, stable and reliable internet connection (uncapped, with a line speed of at least 4MBps). Cellphone data is not acceptable.
