Manager, Business Applications
Job Purpose:
- Design, Improve, Test, Implement, Administer, Support and Maintain business applications and digitization initiatives across the bank.
- The incumbent will manage the team and also consult with other managers in ICT and across other departments to determine and fulfil agreed business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with ICT management team in identifying and prioritising strategic objectives of the department.
- Meet or exceed uptime targets for core banking system and other systems and channels.
- Ensure periodical processes (EOD, EOM & EOY) are executed on a timely and accurate basis.
- Provide timely, accurate and proactive service, while executing an improvement program based on user feedback.
- Identify and automate candidate manual processes and also liaise with other units across
- the bank to deliver automation programs, ICT components of bank projects and technical advice.
- Proactively identify data sources valuable to the bank’s business and automate its fetching, collating, aggregation, analysis, mining and MIS reporting so as to provide
- better insight of the various bank functions – such as channels, departments and the bank as a whole.
- Provide informed technical expertise, assessments and recommendations while exploiting emerging technologies.
- Execute the technical lead role on projects as they are assigned.
- Identify training needs for the Business Systems team, while establishing credibility, rapport, and productive communication lines with the teams in the ICT department.
Skills, Experience and Competencies
- A degree in computer science or related field.
- At least 5 years’ rich experience in the systems analysis, design and support.
- Proven skills in quality systems programming, web development, systems administration, database administration, services integration and secure connectivity across n-tier server architectures.
- Working knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgress and Mysql).
- Working knowledge of data modelling, analysis and visualisation tools.
- Strong Analytical and Problem-solving skills with critical thinking ability.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Project management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Manager, Business Applications (Digital)
Job Purpose:
To define and assess business requirements and to find technical solutions to meet business challenges. The incumbent must assess business requirements and determine the impact on infrastructure and application components
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project scope, system goals, and requirements
- Develop process solutions and ensuring that all output from the users is consistent, accurate, timely and value-adding and constantly seek feedback from Business owners and key stakeholders as to relevance and value of process deliverables.
- Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes through automating by developing relevant systems.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures, monitor systems health, gather system statistics, and troubleshoot reported errors
- Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot core business applications, including application servers, endpoints, and databases
- Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc.
- Assist in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development projects.
- Assist in managing an outsource relationship for 3rd party application development and programming consultants.
- Deliver assigned Projects and Business change requests within time and budget
- Ensure applications operation by training end user and providing support.
- Monitor the usefulness of the new systems and outputs on behalf of users.

Manager, IT Governance
Job Purpose:
- The position holder will be responsible for IT procedures governance and oversight.
- The position holder will be responsible for measuring and monitoring IT compliance.
- The position holder will be responsible for developing systems and processes for the management and reporting of risks.
- Control or mitigate all risks related to IT, including risks pertaining to investments or operations
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining IT governance policies and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Manage IT-related risks effectively, safeguarding the organization’s assets, reputation, and compliance with regulations
- Developing systems and processes for the management and reporting of risks.
- Conducting regular risk assessments and audits to identify compliance gaps and vulnerabilities.
- Work with IT senior managers to document standard operating procedures for IT
- Monitor key performance and key risk indicators and escalate noted gaps
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address compliance issues and implement corrective measures.
- Providing insights and recommendations on risk management to the executive team.
- Reviewing current and proposed information systems for compliance with the company’s business strategy
- Align IT investments with business goals, optimizing value creation
- Ensure that all IT services and development activities align with an organization’s strategic goals

Skills, Experience and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certified in IT governance and compliance standards such as COBIT, ITIL, or ISO 27001.
- Advanced understanding of data privacy regulations and frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
- At least 5 years’ experience in banking, a good understanding of banking processes, services and products, with 3 years at Managers Level.
- Ability to prepare an effective work plan and organize his/her time in a manner that enables that plan to be implemented
- Proven experience in developing and implementing IT governance and compliance strategies.
- Ability to get on well with people and to influence through leadership skills
- Strong networking skills, both externally and within the Bank
- Good negotiations skills to negotiate with stakeholders
