About AYICC: AYICC is the flagship network which unites African youth climate actors and organizations to exchange, collaborate, grow, get access to opportunities, represent their voices, and scale their climate action. Today, AYICC is representing over 500,000 youth from 51 countries. Our mission is to unite, empower, and provide opportunities for African youth to lead on climate action.
Position Overview: AYICC is seeking two passionate and dedicated Fundraising Coordinators to join our team. The Fundraising Coordinators will play a crucial role in securing the financial resources necessary to support AYICC’s mission and expand our impact. The ideal candidates will have experience in fundraising, grant writing, and building partnerships, with a strong commitment to climate action and youth empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to secure funds from a variety of sources including grants, donations, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Grant Writing and Proposal Development: Research and identify grant opportunities, write compelling grant proposals, and manage the submission process.
- Donor Engagement and Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic organizations. Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain donors.
- Event Planning and Coordination: Organize fundraising events and campaigns to raise awareness and funds for AYICC’s initiatives.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities and financial contributions. Prepare regular reports for the AYICC leadership team and funders.
- Collaboration and Networking: Work closely with AYICC members, partners, and stakeholders to identify funding needs and opportunities. Represent AYICC at relevant events and networking opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, or related fields. Experience with climate action or youth organizations is a plus.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge: Understanding of the fundraising landscape, particularly within the nonprofit and climate action sectors. Familiarity with fundraising tools and platforms.
- Commitment: Passionate about climate action and youth empowerment. Willingness to commit time and effort to advance AYICC’s mission.
