About the Role:

As a Finance Assistant, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective use of CMMB’s resources. You’ll provide day-to-day support to project implementation, review field expenses, and contribute to timely donor reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement CMMB’s financial policies, procedures, and donor compliance requirements.
  • Record financial transactions accurately and timely in the Abila (MIP) accounting system.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses, process payments, and manage petty cash.
  • Conduct site visits and train project staff on financial management practices.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure accurate financial reporting for decision-making.
  • Participate in other program implementation activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (BCOM) or Business Administration with a focus on accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience within an international NGO.
  • Professional Accountancy Qualifications (CPA II/ACCA II) preferred.
  • Strong commitment to CMMB’s mission and values.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to transfer knowledge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Abila (Sage) accounting software a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MPESA Bulk Payment System.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and priority management skills.
