Regional Outreach Consultant
Within delegated authority, the consultant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Implements a cohesive global communication strategy on social media platforms, aligning with the organization’s recommendations to enhance websites for coherent dissemination.
- Engages local audiences in line with the Regional Programme Division’s priority issues and projects, integrating the vertical integration of communication across global, regional, and country offices.
- Regularly updates social media platforms with platform-specific content, including text, images, videos, and graphics, contributing to the improvement of knowledge management and dissemination.
- Organizes and executes social media-related campaigns and events, coordinating with diverse partners, reflecting the focus on scaling up successful pilots and addressing critical data and knowledge gaps.
- Collects and produces content for social media platforms, including various formats like infographics and videos, enhancing result-based management and monitoring across the office, including field operations.
- Participates in planning and implementing communication campaigns, selecting relevant excerpts and coordinating translation/adaptation, supporting the strengthening of field presence.
- Develops and maintains collaborations with high-level social media channels of partners, allies, and stakeholders.
- Acts as a focal point on social media matters, monitoring and reporting on the latest developments, responding to queries, and supporting the development of a long-term strategic plan field operations.
- Provides communication support to the chief of communications, especially in social media and contributing to the Annual End of Year Report.
- Contributes to relevant publications highlighting UN Habitat and RPD’s approaches, emphasizing topics like gender inclusivity, and liaises with regional communication focal points for information.
- Contributes to weekly broadcasts by collecting information from country communication focal points, ensuring colleagues are informed about ongoing activities.
- Strengthen internal coordination and accountability through strategic communication, involving refining and establishing reporting lines between headquarters-based divisions and offices away from headquarters
- Carry out tasks and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the supervisors, adapting to various assignments with flexibility and diligence.”
Qualifications/special skills
- High School Diploma is required.
- A first-level university degree in Communication, Journalism or International Relations or a related field is desired.
- 2 years of experience in communications and social media marketing; ·
- Expertise in creating content for major social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Tik-Tok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) is required.
- Strong experience in creating visual (photo and video) assets for use on social media channels;
- Knowledge and experience in using social media monitoring, analytics, and scheduling tools is desired.

Communication and Graphic Design Intern
Under the overall supervision of the Planning Finance Economy Section and the Urban Lab Mesoamerica Hub Coordinator, the intern will be responsible for the following duties within the Flagship Programme 1 and Our City Plans initiative:
- Support and contribute in the communication activities, events and materials. Identify, collate and prepare informative and promotional materials for diverse media, researching different sources of information as required.
- Assist with writing of news articles, newsletters, reports, articles, and concept notes.
- Support in the graphic design, photo and video editing of outreach, promotion and information material, such as publications, presentations, catalogues, brochures, videos, flyers, infographics and handbooks.
- Review and monitor communication channels and metrics associated with the projects and initiatives.
- Update regularly Our City Plans digital platform and social media content, including news and events.

Finance & Admin Intern
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Human Settlements Officer, the intern will contribute in the following ways;
Finance and budgets:
- Review all grants created in the period to ensure they have adequate supporting documentation attached. Assist in reviewing of outstanding implementing partner balances and liaising with respective offices and divisions for timely clearance.
- Liaises with project Management Officers (PMOs) and Project Management Assistants to implement actions identified by the status of allotment reports.
- Coordinate with other finance staff for troubleshooting and responding to enquiries in respect to relevant financial matters.
- Assist with preparation of quarterly and monthly financial reports for management and donors.
- Assist with review of UMOJA financial transactions, commitments, and pre-commitments to ensure timely liquidation of commitments for compliance with IPSAS reporting.
Administrative Support:
- Assist in reviewing and monitoring grant commitments under SDG localization team.
- Assist in drafting and preparing official documents, routine correspondence reports related to financial and admin matters.
- Assist in providing logistical support during meetings and conferences.
- Maintain an online and physical filing system for key documents.

Senior Administrative Assistant
Responsibilities
Human Resources Management:
- Coordinates various actions related to the administration of the unit’s human resource activities, e.g., recruitment, placement, promotion, relocation, performance appraisal, job classification reviews, separation of staff members, training etc., ensuring consistency in the application of UN rules and procedures.
- Liaises with central administration/executive services as required.
- Oversees the maintenance of vacancy announcement files and keeps track of status of vacancy announcements.

Urban Planning Intern

Statistical Infographics Designer
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Data and Analytics Unit. She/he will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Design technical materials and reports including assessment reports and related factsheets
- Convert data generated into city and country profiles
- Design material for capacity development including step by step manuals and presentations
- Develop and update e-learning and audio-visual material on selected urban indicators for online dissemination, based on the approved methodologies and developed modules.
Qualifications/special skills
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional training in Statistical Infographics, or any other closely related field is required A minimum of seven (7) years of work experience working as statistical infographic designer working on a broad range of urban and human settlements issues is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced by two (2) years for candidates who possess a first level University degree. Knowledge of and experience working with the SDGs is highly desirable.
