The Karen Country Club is a leading Country Club in Nairobi and is seeking to fill the position of Night Technician.
Job Summary
The main purpose of this job is to carry out electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in buildings, gardens, walkways, parking lots, and Residences and to attend to minor plumbing repairs.

Duties and Responsibilities
1: Assembling and Installation
- Assemble install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and electrical equipment/appliances.
- Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
- Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
- Connects electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building.
- Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
- Daily inspection of all bulbs in the Club and The Residence’s walkways/paths/ gardens, and parking lots, to ensure they are functional.
- Attend to all repair and maintenance callouts from the Control room, The Residences
- Provide support and set up services to the Events team during Club events and functions.
2: Hot water system, heat pump inspection
- Test hot water heating systems, thermal probe sensors, thermostat switches, and all other control components.
- Adjust the pool heating temperature as may be required on specific weather/nights as instructed.

3: Health and safety responsibility
- Ensure all electrical power points are safe.
- Attend firefighting training and ensure power points do not cause any fire risk.
- Avail yourself to attend to emergency electrical works.
- Ensure to follow stipulated SOPs in every task carried out.
- Ensure to use of provided protective equipment for the right purpose.
- Report all main grid power failures at night to KPLC and keep the complaint reference Numbers for follow-up in the morning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma in electrical engineering.
- Levels I and II of the trade tests in Electrical installation.
- Knowledge of safety requirements.
- Basic plumbing skills.
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment.
- Good communication and people skills.
- Reliability, team player and flexible.
