The position is responsible for the management of the accounting and finance function. It ensures that sound financial and accounting systems and procedures are in place and continuously updated for effective management of the function.
Financial GL level Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of GL level reports to management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Make recommendations for cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements.
- Compliance and Regulatory Management:
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Ensure adherence to tax regulations.
- Reconciliation of control accounts and internal and external audits.
- Reconciliation of inter – Company accounts.
- Supervise stock Costings.
- Manage Finance related procurements adhering to budget.
Group Petty Cash Management:
- Oversee cash flow planning and management.
- Implement effective cash management policies to optimize the organization’s liquidity.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Ensure a high level of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
Job Requirement
- The Chief Accountant will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer or another designated senior executive.
- The position requires collaboration with various departments, including finance, operations, and executive leadership.
- The organization may be undergoing growth or transformation, and the Chief Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting financial aspects of these changes.
- The role involves managing complex financial systems and software and staying updated on technological advancements in the field.
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
- University Degree.
- CPA (K) or equivalent professional certificate
Minimum Experience:
+ 7 years relevant working experience.
