Our client a leader in the Manufacturing industry in Kenya is looking to onboard a new team member;
Position Title: Accountant

Summary of the Role
To ensure that all the financial records of the Company are accurately recorded and maintained, payments are done and revenue collected. Ultimately, ensurse transparency and efficiency in all accounting transactions in the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting and analyzing data about the company’s operational costs
- Developing and analyzing cost standards
- Setting standard costs of manufactured goods
- Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP)analysis
- Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping,
- Performing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations
- Preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to management
- Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
- Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
- Managing the company’s balance sheet and accounting books
- Supporting other departments with invoicing based on services rendered and/or goods sold and capital expenditure
- Perform general accounting duties: collect revenue, process payments, monitor revenue collection and expenditures based on approved budgets.
- Carry out regular physical stock taking and handle any discrepancies between physical stock and the balances on the accounting records.
- Managing bills of materials
- Manage all statutory deductions including processing and filing monthly and annual returns
- Prepare cheque payment vouchers and write cheques.
- Responsible for allocation and accounting of intercompany transactions and reconciliation with HQ
- Process monthly/weekly accounting reports.
- Assist with the procurement process by identifying the best suppliers, getting quotations, negotiating prices and managing the purchase, goods receiving and storage.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of work experience as a cost accountant, analyst, or other relevant role
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and best practices
- Familiarity with accounting software programs QuickBooks
- Computer literacy skills, especially with MS Excel and basic data entry and computation

- Proven time management skills and ability to work under strict deadlines
