Job Summary
- The Warehouse and Logistics Officer is expected to play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient and effective operation of our warehouse at agriBORA. This position involves managing inventory, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Implement and maintain accurate inventory management in the ERP system.
- Monitor and control inventory levels to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
- Conduct regular stock assessments and reconcile discrepancies.
Warehouse Operations:
- Plan and organize the layout of the warehouse to optimize space and workflow.
- Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatch of agricultural products and related materials.
- Implement efficient picking, packing, and shipping processes.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards for incoming and outgoing products.
Logistics Coordination:
- Execute logistics plans for the delivery of agricultural inputs to agriHUBS and the aggregation of harvests for off-takers.
- Coordinate smooth transportation of goods to and from the warehouse.
- Optimize delivery routes to agriHUBS and off-takers, considering factors such as distance, cost, and time efficiency.
- Utilize digital tools and technologies for real-time route tracking.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of shipments.
Environmental and Safety Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety regulations and protocols within the warehouse.
- Respond to and investigate any safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality control measures for all stored products.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Monitor and report on product shelf life and expiration dates.
- Other duties as assigned by the executive leadership.
- agriBORA requires flexibility from all staff with regard to roles and responsibilities.
Key Qualifications
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management within the agribusiness sector.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural products, storage requirements, and industry regulations.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management software, Microsoft Office applications, and ERPNext.
Logistics Execution:
- Hands-on experience in executing logistics plans, coordinating transportation, and monitoring delivery schedules.
Route Optimization:
- Basic understanding of route optimization principles, with the ability to optimize delivery routes for efficiency.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, transportation schedules, and delivery documentation.
Communication Skills:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate logistics activities with suppliers, agriHUBS, and off-takers.
