Job Description
- Carrying out practical demonstrations and training farmers on livestock production technologies and techniques;
- Assisting in preparing field days to disseminate livestock production technologies;
- Assisting in identification of pasture and fodder varieties;
- Assisting in advising on management of pasture and fodder production conservation;
- Assisting in farm planning;
- Guiding on farm feed formulation;
- Collating and analyzing livestock data;
- Participating in collaborative research activities;
- Implementing livestock programmes / projects; and
- Assisting in compiling reports relating to area of specialization.
Job Specification
For appointment of this grade, an officer must have:-
- A Bachelors degree in a relevant animal production discipline;
- Registered by relevant professional body;
- Proficiency in Computer Application; and
- Meets the requirements of Chapter 6 of the constitution.
Key competencies and skills
- Good interpersonal communication skills; and
- Should be able to work with minimal supervision.

- Original Academic certificates and other testimonials;
- Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) recognition/equation certificate for degrees, diplomas and certificates awarded by foreign universities and institutions.
Successful candidates will be required to provide the following documents:
- Certificate of good conduct;
- EACC clearance;
- HELB clearance;
- KRA compliance certificate; and
- Clearance from a reputable credit referencing bureau.
