Partnership Intern

Workpay is on the lookout for a Partnership Intern to join our dynamic team for a 3-6 month internship, with a potential path to full-time employment!

Workpay is on a mission to help organizations in Africa manage and pay employees easily, legally, and compliantly. Whether for remote employees in Mali or a local team in Mozambique, Workpay’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) tools ensure that payrolls, compliance, benefits, and payments arrive on time. Background
Workpay has doubled in size over the last two years. Hundreds of organizations in East and West Africa are now using our SaaS platform to better manage their employees’ payroll and benefits in Africa, and demand for our powerful, user-friendly tools remains on the rise. This is especially true in Kenya and East Africa, so we need experienced individuals to turn that demand into continued sales growth on the ground.
Role Overview
As a Partnership Intern at Workpay, you will be an integral part of our Growth team. Your role will involve supporting daily partnership activities, conducting market research, assisting in partnership campaigns, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive customer experience.
Areas Of Learning
- Collaboration
You will get to explore the dynamics of cross-functional collaboration by working closely with teams in marketing, customer success, and product support.
- Partner Support Skills:
You will develop hands-on experience in supporting the growth team’s daily activities. Learn the art of lead qualification, lead generation, and prospecting to contribute to the overall growth strategy.
- Market Research Proficiency:
You also get to learn how to identify potential clients, decipher industry trends, and gather competitive insights. Here you will acquire skills in compiling and analyzing data to provide a foundation for supporting strategic partnership initiatives.
- Partnership Campaign Expertise:
You get to delve into the intricacies of partner campaigns, promotions, and events. You will be involved in the planning and execution phases, all while contributing your ideas for creative and effective partner strategies. This way you gain hands-on experience in shaping and implementing impactful partner initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in lead qualification, lead generation, and prospecting.
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients, analyze industry trends, and compile data for strategic partner initiatives.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of partnership campaigns, promotions, and events.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, customer success, and product support.
Required Qualities And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related course.
- 1-year relevant experience in sales and marketing of a SaaS solution (can be prior internships)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to the success of the growth team.
