About the job

Purpose of the role:

  • Create unique, engaging and hyper-local social media content to grow audiences in in the East Africa region
  • Focus on daily engagement and tactical community-building activities
  • Work with the community managers to drive brand love and positive sentiment

Key Accountabilities:

Operational Delivery

  • Plan, brief and execute social media content for Showmax East Africa
  • Support key local and international content, partnerships, product and other brand relevant campaigns
  • Identify relevant tactical social media content and customer opportunities to grow the love of the brand
  • Assist in the coverage of events and work out-of-office hours as needed
  • Available for after-hours posting or monitoring of social channels as needed
  • Oversee Showmax related influencer campaigns
  • Provide social media reports and insights
  • Proactively looking for new opportunities and monitoring trends
  • Manage PCAs of Showmax related competitions on social media

Qualifications:

 

  • Relevant Diploma
  • Relevant Degree would be advantageous

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a social media content management focused role
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in community management
  • Proven ability to create high performing content for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • A clear understanding of social media metrics and how to report on them
  • Up-to-date with relevant industry trends
  • Clear understanding of the East African entertainment landscape
