Duties and Resposibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and maintain proper supporting documentation.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts for management review.
- Assist in developing and monitoring the company’s annual budget and financial plans.
- Conduct periodic financial analysis, highlighting variances, trends, and areas of improvement.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company finance policies.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules and support external auditors during the audit process.
- Monitor and reconcile interdepartmental transactions and accounts.
- Provide guidance and support to staff regarding financial procedures, policies, and systems.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and best practices.
- Prepare and file tax and statutory returns and ensure taxes are paid properly and on time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA-K (Certified Public Accountant)
- Proven experience as an Accountant with at least 5 years working experience, 2 of which must be in preparing final accounts.
- Must be well versed with preparation of final accounts
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting softwares (QuickBooks is a must)
- Proficient in Microsoft office suit.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent presentation skills i.e charts and graphs.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
