IELTS

It is also recognized by professional bodies, immigration authorities, other government agencies. POSITION TITLE: Accountant – Kenya
LOCATION: Nairobi, Kenya
REPORTS TO: Country Manager – Kenya
POSITION PURPOSE
Key Responsibilities
The position is required for the working on all Finance and Accounts related jobs in the function at local country level. Detailed description of activities is as below:
- Financial Management
- GL reconciliation
- Local Accounting Requirements
Financial Management
- Perform a variety of regular and recurring accounting function requiring professional competency.
- Generate, review, analyze and communicate financial data that reflects actual financial performance against approved budgets.
- Management of AR and AP in line with the Company’s policy
- Management of Bank and Treasury activities
- Participation in the annual external audit and documentation
- Contribute to the annual operating budgeting process.
GL reconciliation
- Compile and prepare entries to General Ledger accounts.
- Reconciliation of Revenue and Balance sheet accounts
Local Accounting Requirements
- Prepare tax schedules and apply basic knowledge of tax rules to assist in preparation of tax reports and returns.
Other
- Concurrently perform multiple assignments
- Document accounting transactions, using procedures defined by internal & external stakeholders.
- Providing support to improve local finance processes and practices. Involvement in managing ad hoc financial activities e.g., audits, revenue Departments
- Review contracts, orders and vouchers for accuracy based on established policies and procedures
- Apply the financial policies and procedures of the company.
- Bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management.
- Contribute to the annual operating budgeting process.
- Communicate with other company personnel and contacts outside the company with limited supervision.
- Collect data and perform research on the details of transactions.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree – additional certifications in Finance / Accounting a bonus; with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Oracle, Financial application Experience is a must.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, and taxation
- Strong English communication (verbal and written) skills to interact effectively with global colleagues.
