Crescent Takaful Sacco Society Limited (CTS) is the first Shariah-Compliant SACCO in Kenya. Our primary objective is to downstream Islamic Finance for increased financial inclusion and economic empowerment of communities majorly in the Arid-and Semi-Arid (ASAL) areas in Kenya.
In line with this objective, CTS seeks applications for the Microfinance Interns (10) positions in Nairobi and Wajir:
The primary function of this Job position is to undertake member outreach, product promotion, client assessment, intake & financing, supervision and monitoring of client’s portfolios with the intention of growing and sustaining a healthy deposit and financing portfolio.
This is a 6-month attachment with possibility of employment upon successful completion. Therefore, high-potential and qualified candidates are desired.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- 1. Create Institutional awareness and conduct community mobilization meetings.
- 2. Undertake market assessment to identify key prospects and establish their needs.
- 3. Assess and select viable Clients and Groups using the laid down criteria.
- 4. Mobilization of savings and provision of financing among clients.
- 5. Ensure Financing applications are done correctly.
- 6. Ensure Financing appraisal and approval are done following set criteria and conditions.
- 7. To advise members on Shariah requirements; general processes & expectations.
- 8. To train and give support to staff, agents and partners
- 9. To perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1. At least a 3-Year National Diploma from a recognised College in a Business Discipline
- 2. KATC/ CPA II Accounting or Business/ Marketing Diploma is a distinct advantage
- 3. Passion for Community Empowerment
