Research Survey Enumerators
About the Opportunity
We are pleased to announce the Research Survey Enumerators vacancy within the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Department. Reporting to Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Associate the position holder will work closely with the research field mobilizers, research team, MEL and BGS teams to ensure that high-quality data is collected, analyzed and used to inform programming and decision-making across the organization. The enumerators must be available to attend a 5-day mandatory training. This position is based in Kakuma & Dadaab
Inkomoko is currently recruiting field survey enumerators for the “Thriving Entrepreneurs ”Research study. The goal of the study is to (a) provide an overview of the characteristics of successful and unsuccessful businesses among refugee and host communities and (b)understand constraints to business growth. The study will be implemented across three countries: Ethiopia, Kenya and Rwanda.
Responsibilities
The position responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
- Assist the Research/MEL/ BGS teams in data collection.
- Enumerators will use a mobile data collection tool (Kobo) to gather and accurately record responses on already existing tools and review them to identify any errors or inconsistencies before submitting them.
- Support in ensuring that questionnaires/data collection forms have been thoroughly checked and completed.
- Recognize and give account of problems in obtaining data and provide useful feedback from data collection activities as well as provide honest, clear feedback on challenges and successes.
- Undertake any other duties as directed by the Research and/or MEL Team.
- Attend a mandatory 5-day training.
Minimum Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with incredible attention to detail and good communication skills. Basic qualifications include:
- Higher diploma with at least 3 years of data collection experience. BA in any field a plus
- Experience with digital data collection tools {Kobo Collect, Comcare}
- Experience conducting surveys.
- Good communication skills, fluent in English {Fluency in local languages a plus]
- Ability to work in teams and with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Problem-solving skills to address challenges during data collection.
- Unrelenting perseverance, personal integrity, flexible and critical thinking skills.
- Must be able to legally work in Kenya, including Refugees living in Kenya are most welcome.

We are pleased to announce the Community Research Mobilizers vacancy within the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Department. Reporting to Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Associate the position holder will will work closely with the community, research field enumerator, MEL and BGS teams to engage and sensitize the community in understanding the goals and objectives of the study and support in identifying, recruiting, and confirming the participation of potential research participants. The mobilizers must be available to attend a mandatory 5-day training. This position is based in Kakuma & Dadaab.

- Communicate with the participants ahead of time to remind them about their availability to participate in the research study.
- Attend 5-day mandatory training.
