The role
Weighbridge Clerk
Summary of the role:
Using site weighing equipment to weigh incoming/outgoing vehicles, completing the relevant documents and associated paperwork, and following all procedures therein.
Responsibilities:
- Checking and Logging drivers’ details and vehicle details as they enter and leave the site.
- Physical checking of the load bay of each vehicle and alerting Warehouse Management of discrepancies and attempted fraud.
- Recording the incoming delivery details, contents, and source of each vehicle, alerting Wa
- Management of any discrepancies.
- Weighing each vehicle for gross and net weights and updating the captured data in the weighbridge database.
- Noting any discrepancies in the weights and alerting the Warehouse Management.
- Following the procedure to receive and release said empty or loaded vehicles.
- Assisting the warehouse staff in monitoring parking and storage of vehicles in an orderly manner.
- Adhering to the first in/first out principle of vehicles on busy days.
- Assisting the warehouse staff with monitoring and reception/release of fuels and gases.
- Any other minor tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Management
- A willingness to work longer hours or Overtime as necessary
- Implement health, safety, and environmental practices at the weighbridge to prevent accidents or near misses.
- Work with the health and safety committee to identify risks and hazards, and implement recommended safety measures.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team internally and service contractors externally
Qualification:
- Certificate/diploma in records management, information technology, or business administration, proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
