Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Procurement Officer. The role is located in Nairobi County, Kenya.

The Responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services and supplies.
  • Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing, comparing, and analysing products and services to be purchased based on prices, quality and applicability
  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges
  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts
  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers
  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports
  • Develop sourcing strategies
  • Cost saving budgeting and targeting
  • Payment terms negotiation, optimization, and management

The Applicant should have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a construction company – REQUIRED
  • Previous experience in procurement and supply chain management with a company located in Nairobi – REQUIRED
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement strategies and price negotiations
  • Independent self-starter with attention to detail and a strong personality
  • Possesses integrity and ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
  • Adaptable, flexible, able to take initiative and prioritise among competing demands
  • Bachelors degree in commerce – procurement.

Salary is negotiable depending on Applicant’s experience.
