Marketing Assistant in our office in Kenya.
As a Marketing Assistant you will be responsible for playing a pivotal role in strategically expanding the company’s social media presence and engagement. You will work closely with the Marketing Partner, Market Analyst and Senior Marketing Manager to create disruptive and on-brand content, fostering a positive online community, and coordinating media opportunities. The candidate will analyze data, track social media effectiveness, and collaborate on integrated marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall mission of FXPesa to shape the financial future of millions of East Africans.
Responsibilities
- Develop an effective strategy to enhance FXPesa’s social media following and engagement.
- Create disruptive, on-brand social content for platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and more.
- Respond to comments appropriately to foster a positive community and enhance client experience.
- Assist in content production, including podcasts and TikTok videos.
- Dedicate time to educate the FXPesa team on social media capabilities continually.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to integrate social executions into online and offline programs, from planning to execution.
- Regularly analyze data to provide insights, key takeaways, and optimizations, presenting monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.
- Work cross-functionally to gather relevant information and insights for the marketing team.
- Track, measure, and report on the effectiveness of social media efforts.
- Coordinate media opportunities for analysts and spokespeople.
- Monitor and report on media coverage.
- Manage the distribution of commentary from market analysts on social media.
- Act as a resource for the Senior Marketing Manager as needed for marketing projects.
Skills & Competencies
- Demonstrated experience in integrated marketing, event management, marketing strategy, business planning, or related work.
- Socially fluent and digitally dialed in
- Demonstrable social analytics tools knowledge
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive and solutions-driven with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Excellent project management skills with strong organizational, time-management, and planning abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating confidence, judgment, and maturity to lead or follow appropriately.
- Bring creativity, positivity, and a sense of humor to work daily while strongly believing in the mission.
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Related Field
- Minimum 3 years experience with managing social media for corporate entities is preferred (agency experience a plus)
- Must have successfully managed and prioritized multiple projects with competing deadlines; must be able to allocate time and resources accordingly
- Experience in usage of Confluence, Jira, Hootsuite is a plus
