USAID Hiring Volunteer Girl Roster Enumerator.
BACKGROUND: The USAID Tumikia Mtoto project is a five-year initiative funded by PEPFAR/USAID to aid implementation of OVC & DREAMS components. Its main objective is to improve access to quality health and social services for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), and their families. The project aims to provide a comprehensive continuum of care, protection, and capacity building for self- reliance. World Vision Kenya is the lead organization for this project, working in collaboration with six local implementing partners: Redeemed Integrated Development Agency (RIDA), The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), AVSI Foundation, Beacon of Hope(BOH), St. John’s Community Centre (SJCC), and Cheer Up Program.The project is implemented in close partnership with the National and County Governments of Nairobi and Kiambu.The USAID Tumikia Mtoto project also benefits from strong partnerships with clinical partners, the private sector,and other stakeholders. These partnerships play a significant role in delivering quality, age-appropriate violence prevention health and social services to AGYW, OVC, and their families in Nairobi and Kiambu counties.
LOCATION: USAID Tumikia Mtoto DREAMS component of the project is Expanding to other Kiambu wards namely (Kihara and Karuri)
GIRL ROSTER: In the expansion areas of the project implementation underlined above, USAID Tumikia Mtoto project intend to conduct Girl Roster exercise to establish the Universe-sum of all Girls in the program area prior commencement of Enrolment of eligible AGYW. It is for this reason that the project is seeking to engage volunteers as Enumerators to support Girl Roster exercise
Duties and responsibilities
- Attend enumerators’ training to familiarize with the survey objectives, data collection tools, and procedures
- Participate in field piloting & testing of data collection tools
- Receive enumeration materials and equipment from principal investigator or the organization you are working
- Develop an enumeration schedule/itinerary that outlines the locations and timing of data collection activities
- Locate or select sample members or respondents based on the sampling methodology used for the This may involve visiting households,businesses,or other relevant locations.
- Clearly communicate the goals of the project and explain the process to the households being
interviewed
- Conduct interviews with selected respondents using the survey questionnaires or interview scripts provided
- Collect data and record responses during the interviews
- Review collected data and upload to the server at the end of each
- Comply with organization guidelines for data collection
- Participate in daily brief with the field supervisor to report on the previous day’s activities, discuss any challenges or issues encountered,
- Uphold data confidentiality and child safeguarding as outlined in the organisation policy
- Undertake additional assigned duties by designated supervisor
The ideal candidate should have the following qualities and qualifications:
- Highly organized individual, capable of handling multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing time effectively.
- Physical fitness, as this role may require walking long distances and working long
- Experience in utilizing technology tools and possess the ability to master new technology tools, as
- Familiarity with the use of Android-based tablets or Smartphones and mobile data collection applications such as KOBO collect, survey CTO survey amongst others. In possession of a
- Ability to work independently as well as an effective team
- Outstanding communication, writing, and research
- Confidence and a can-do attitude, with the ability to advance projects with minimal
- Skills in qualitative data transcription are a plus,
