Job Purpose
Reporting to the Program Accountant, Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, the person will be responsible for assisting in the accounting function for the program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the processing of fee payments for the scholars.
- Assist in accounting for the payment vouchers in a timely manner.
- Assist in liaising with respective departments to ensure all the payments are processed on time.
- Monthly scanning of supporting documents for the financial report.
- Preparation of ad hoc report as may be required from time to time.
- Ensure proper records of projects’ budgets, work plans, and contracts are well maintained.
- Ensure easy access to the projects’ budgets, contracts and work plans. Maintain an organized, well-documented and sequential filing system for documents on the Box Folders.
- Ensure that queries raised are responded to promptly and accurately.
- Assist with the Internal and External audit preparations including putting together relevant documentation for the Audit.
- Ensure that there is at least one area of improvement in form of training, seminar, or workshop.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
Minimum Educational Qualifications and professional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/Accounting/Business
- At least two-years previous experience of accounting especially Project accounting and finance.
- CPA Part III or more will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience of accounting especially Project accounting and finance will be an added advantage.
