Our client, an independent, private and non-profit organization headquartered in Germany who promotes social democracy and development worldwide, contributing to peace and security and shaping globalization politically is looking for IT-Administrator Regional Support Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support for the currently 20+ project offices on the continent and standardizing and integrating the IT infrastructure
Location: Nairobi
Job Responsibilities
- Rollout of predefined hardware and software in the international offices, incl. rollout preparation to ensure that all necessary requirements for the rollouts are fulfilled.
- Collaborate with clients’ Global IT team to implement and maintain standardized IT policies, procedures, and security measures.
- Communication with key users and users about IT to ensure seamless execution of IT activities.
- 1st and partially 2nd level support and incident in cooperation with the other regional support administrators.
- Contact point for user questions, support for super-users and participation in training sessions for users.
- Administration and maintenance of client and server devices in the international offices.
- Support and guide country IT liaison in the procurement of IT hardware and software in accordance with clients’ Global IT guidelines and asset management.
- Provision of additional software on individual devices.
- IT Security compliance, monitoring and initiation of appropriate measures.
- On- and Off-Boarding of users and user management.
- Patch-Management.
Other Requirements
- Relevant university degree, e.g. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other related fields.
- 8 Years of experience, 2 Years in the same position (Supporting Africa or several African countries)
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft products: especially Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, Office, Skype for Business, Windows 10/11 and Windows Server, VMware.
- Knowledge in IT Security and/or in the use of artificial intelligence are an asset.
- Professional experience in the technical administration and application of standardized IT systems; experience with rollout processes is an advantage.
- Several years of professional experience in 1st level user support.
- Strong communication skills in English (C1 or C2 level); knowledge of French would be an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to present and explain technical facts to management and users in a way that is also understandable for non-IT experts.
- A high level of teamwork, initiative and commitment; international experience would be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel.
- Willingness to work occasionally on weekends and public holidays.
