We are seeking to recruit a travel agent to join our enthusiastic team (GG Tours, as we proudly call ourselves). Their responsibilities will entail;
- Liaise with clients to determine their needs in regards destinations, modes of transport, travel dates, costs and accommodations
- Booking flights and any other modes of transport that are to be used
- Provide relevant information (including on brochures and publications) to travelers.
- Receiving payments or ensuring payment is done as per agreements
- Deal with occurring travel problems, complaints or refunds
- Attend travel seminars whenever possible to remain updated with tourism trends
- Enter data into our software and maintain client file
- Network with tour operators and other stakeholders
- Meet the agreed upon sales targets
The person MUST have the following qualifications:
- Diploma in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Business or relevant field
- At least 1 year experience as a Travel Agent
- Excellent knowledge of computer reservations systems, GDS systems and e-travelling
- Fluency in English; multilingualism is a plus
- Strong sales skills and commercial awareness
- Ability to interact, communicate and negotiate effectively
- Sound knowledge of domestic and international travel trends
- Personal travel experience will be considered as an advantage
