Impact Research and Development Organization (IRDO) [www.impact- rdo.org] is a registered Kenyan NGO with the main office in Kisumu and regional offices in 6 counties of Kenya. IRDO’s principal mandate is to design, implement and evaluate public health research and intervention programs that improve the health status of individuals and local communities. We are looking for qualified and experienced personnel to immediately fill the following positions:
STUDY COORDINATORS (2 positions) Work Station: Siaya or Kisumu Counties
Reporting to: Site Principal Investigator
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be in-charge of all aspects of study implementation. S/he will ensure data of the highest quality are collected; specifically, s/he will support the PIs and other study investigators in ensuring timely enrollment and high retention of study participants, and that the study is conducted in compliance with national and international ethical principles.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the development, including modifications if needed, of the study protocol and associated documents such as consent forms and data collection
- Oversee preparation of documents for submission to regulatory bodies, including ethics review
- Prepare and monitor compliance with SOPs and procedures
- Be responsible for community engagement activities; participate in hiring and training of study staff; oversee participant recruitment and retention; ensure efficient electronic data collection and
- Supervise study staff and ensure they uphold the principles of research ethics and follow approved
- Organize regular conference calls with local and international
- Prepare and submit timely reports; oversee results dissemination; participate in data analysis and writing of abstracts and
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Epidemiology, Social Sciences or related field
- At least 6 years of research experience, half of which in coordination position(s)
- Strong computer proficiency with excellent competency in Microsoft Office applications mandatory
- Demonstrated experience in qualitative interviews and analysis
- Experience in manuscript writing and publications in peer-reviewed journals highly
- Proficiency in a survey software
- Excellent organizational skills and report writing mandatory
