Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring accurate records of all cargo received by inspecting, weighing, and stacking to the required standard and issuing arrival advises to clients,
- Verifying of release documents, inspection and weighment of cargo before dispatch to clients,
- Updating of incoming/ outgoing cargo into the TOS and generating reports,
- Ensuring that all staff attendance registers are up to date and carrying out daily review of casuals’ recruitment based on volumes,
- Carrying out daily inspection of the warehouse, enforcing safety regulations and protocols within the warehouse,
- Ensuring all warehouse equipment are properly used and maintained as per the user’s manual and the servicing schedule, and all equipment breakdown are reported and handled in a timely manner,
- Supervising and motivating staff, all while maintaining staff discipline,
- Raising OT requests and forwarding for approval,
- Custodian of the warehouse keys, ensuring timely opening and closing of the warehouse,
- Ensuring maximum utilization of company resources at warehouse,
- Generating and submission of accurate, timely and relevant reports,
- Ensuring continuous process improvement of services,
- Ensuring customer satisfaction for the consumers of the services offered by the department,
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
The job holder must possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role
- Diploma in Clearing & Forwarding and Warehousing
- Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice
- Knowledge of warehouse management system and inventory system will be an added advantage
- Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams
- Must demonstrate ability to multitask.
- Must demonstrate commitment to operational effectiveness
- Should have ability to solve problems by applying relevant business knowledge
- Must have the ability to communicate for both written and oral communication
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must have knowledge in use of MS office packages
