Role Overview
As a Finance Intern, you will quickly become an integral part of our Nairobi Finance Team over the next 3-6 months, with a potential path to a full-time role thereafter. Your primary intern responsibilities will involve supporting team members in a range of tasks, including data entry, balance sheet reconciliations, report generation, and variance analysis.
Required Qualities And Qualifications
- You recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree program (2021, 2022, or 2023 graduate) in Finance or Accounting from a recognized institution.
- 0-2 years out of campus with minimum of 6 months relevant work experience in finance or accounting roles, which can include prior internships, and maximum of 24 months.
- CPA or ACCA certification.
- Proficient in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial tasks.
- Demonstrated ability in analytical thinking and effective problem-solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to interact effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized work approach.
- Possess a logical and analytical mindset with a solid mathematical aptitude.
- Experience with any accounting software is advantageous and will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities
- Execute general ledger accounting functions with precision and attention to detail.
- Ensure the company’s tax compliance through assistance in tax filings and timely submissions.
- Meticulously reconcile bank statements to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions.
- Proficiently handle data entry and maintain a well-organized system for filing financial documents.
- Collaborate in the preparation of comprehensive and punctual monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Actively propose and implement strategies for optimizing financial operations and processes.
- Offer assistance and expertise in various financial tasks as required, ensuring the smooth functioning of financial operations.
